Everything You Need to Know Before You Book
Hiring recovery equipment from RecoveryTec is designed to be as simple as possible — especially if you're managing a surgery or injury and the last thing you need is complicated logistics. Here's exactly how the process works from booking to return, so you know what to expect before you get in touch.
Get in Touch and Choose Your Equipment
The easiest way to book is to fill out the contact form on our website or send us a message via phone, email or WhatsApp. Let us know what equipment you need, when your surgery is (or when you need the equipment), and where you'd like it delivered. If you're not sure which equipment is right for your recovery, just ask — we're physiotherapists and happy to advise based on your surgery type and what your surgeon or physio has recommended.
Most bookings are confirmed within a few hours. We'll let you know availability and arrange a delivery time that works for you.
Delivery to Your Door
We deliver across Christchurch, Selwyn and North Canterbury — typically within 24 hours of booking if availability allows. Delivery and pickup to your home is $40. If you'd prefer to collect and return equipment yourself, free pickup and drop-off is available from our Lincoln and Belfast locations.
For patients outside of Christchurch, we ship nationwide by courier. Get in touch before booking and we'll confirm delivery costs and timeframes for your location. We regularly send equipment to Auckland, Wellington, Dunedin, Queenstown, Tauranga, Nelson and rural addresses — so wherever you are in New Zealand, we can get it to you.
Many patients time their booking so equipment arrives the same day they come home from hospital. If your surgery date changes, just let us know and we'll adjust the delivery accordingly.
Setup and Getting Started
Every piece of equipment arrives clean, tested and ready to use. We include clear quick-start instructions with each device — written in plain English, not technical manuals. For CryoPush ice compression machines, we walk you through the setup process at delivery so you're confident before we leave.
If you run into any questions during your hire — how to adjust a setting, which programme to use, how to fit a wrap — you can call or message us any time. We're a small team and we respond quickly. Most people are up and running within 15 minutes of unpacking.
Returning Your Equipment
When you're done, we arrange collection from your home at a time that suits you — included in the original delivery fee. Alternatively you can drop the equipment back to our Lincoln or Belfast location at no charge.
For customers outside of Christchurch who received their equipment by courier, we'll arrange a return courier label and confirm the return process before your hire ends. Just pack the equipment back in the bag it arrived in and we'll sort the rest.
During Your Hire
Hire is weekly with no lock-in period. There's no bond or deposit required on any equipment — we trust our customers and keep the process simple.
If your recovery takes longer than expected — which happens — just let us know before your hire period ends and we'll extend it. We're flexible around recovery timelines because we understand they don't always go to plan. You can extend week by week for as long as you need the equipment.
We'll follow up a few days before your hire ends to check in and confirm whether you'd like to extend or arrange return. You won't be chased or pressured — just a friendly message to keep things organised.
How We Clean Equipment Between Hires
Every piece of equipment is thoroughly cleaned and sanitised between hires. Wraps and contact surfaces are cleaned with medical-grade disinfectant. Machines are inspected and tested before each hire to make sure everything is working correctly.
We understand this matters — particularly for post-surgical patients where hygiene is a genuine concern. If you have specific questions about our cleaning process for a particular device, just ask before you book and we'll walk you through it.
What Does It Cost?
All equipment is priced at $120 for the first week and $80 for each additional week. The ACL Recovery Package (CryoPush + Compex combined) is $200 for the first week and $150 for each additional week. No bond or deposit is required on any hire.
Delivery and pickup across Christchurch and Selwyn is $40. Free collection and drop-off from our Lincoln or Belfast locations. Nationwide courier costs vary by location — get in touch and we'll confirm before you book.

Yes — many patients hire two or more pieces of equipment together. The most common combination is a CryoPush ice compression machine with a Compex EMS muscle stimulator, which is available as our ACL Recovery Package. You can also hire any combination of equipment individually — just let us know what you need when you get in touch.
