Terms and Conditions

  1. Hiring Process

    We hire out our equipment on a weekly basis (minimum period may apply to some equipment). Please contact us directly to check availability When hiring, you are taking full responsibility for looking after the equipment.
    Any damage to the equipment you may be liable for repair or replacement of the equipment. We check for damage and sanitise the units after each rental period.
    If you find any damage on the item that we have not previously noted please take a photo and email us as soon as possible.
    If the equipment is lost or stolen you will be liable for replacement of the equipment.

  2. Equipment Return and Late Fees

    The hired equipment must be returned or with the courier on or before the agreed-upon return date. Failure to return the equipment on time will result in a late fee of $50 per day for each day the equipment is overdue. If you would like to extend the rental period contact RecoveryTec to check availability.

  3. Liability for Loss and Theft

    The hirer is responsible for the safekeeping of the equipment during the rental period. In the event of loss, theft or damage to the equipment, the hirer may be held liable for the cost of the repair or replacement, up to the full value of the equipment. The hirer is advised to take appropriate precautions to ensure the security of the equipment.

  4. Assumption of Risk

    The Client acknowledges that the use of the recovery equipment involves risks. The Client certifies that they are in proper physical condition to use the equipment and understand the inherent risks involved. By clicking ‘I agree’ this Agreement, the Client voluntarily assumes full responsibility for any risks or injuries, known or unknown, that may occur from using the equipment

  5. Waiver of Liability

    The Client agrees to release, waive, discharge, and hold harmless the Service Provider from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, or causes of action arising out of or related to any loss, damage, injury, or death that may be sustained by the client while using the recovery equipment, or as a result of the use of the recovery equipment, including but not limited to injuries caused by the Client’s own negligence.

  6. Medical Clearance

    The Client affirms that they have consulted with a healthcare provider and have received clearance to participate in recovery therapy. The service provider is not responsible for verifying the client's medical suitability for this activity. Refer to the below health and safety and contra-indications of use.

  7. Health and Safety

    Ice Baths
    If hiring the ice bath we recommend not leaving the bath filled in a place that is not fully fenced off if children are around. If this is the case please drain after each use or keep in a fenced off and locked area.

    Normatec Compression Boots:
    If charging the Normatec pump units we recommend not charging these unsupervised or over night. There is a lithium battery in these and there is always a risk of these heating up.

    If travelling internationally with the Normatec Compression Boots please make sure the unit it taken as carry on luggage due to the lithium ion battery.

    Please ensure the boots are fully zipped up when being used as there is a risk of damaging the zips when the boots inflate.

    You accept all responsibility for damage caused by inappropriate or improper use of the equipment .

    Blood Flow Restriction cuffs:

    Medical Clearance: Before using the Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) cuffs, the hirer agrees that they have no known health concerns that would make this equipment unsafe for use. It is strongly advised that individuals with any prior or existing health conditions obtain clearance from a qualified medical professional before hiring or using the BFR cuffs.

    Health Screening: A health screening assessment must be completed in the SAGA Fitness app prior to the initial use of the BFR cuffs. This screening is a mandatory safety measure intended to identify any potential contraindications to BFR training.

    Consultation for Concerns: If any issues arise from the health screen or if there are any concerns regarding the hirer’s suitability for BFR training, the hirer agrees to seek further advice from their health professional or contact the team at RecoveryTec for guidance prior to use.

    Liability Disclaimer: By proceeding with the hire and use of the BFR cuffs, the hirer acknowledges and accepts any risks associated with BFR training and confirms their compliance with the health and safety measures outlined above.

    Compex Muscle Stimulator

    I acknowledge and agree to adhere to the following health and safety guidelines:

    Medical Clearance: I confirm that I have no known medical conditions that would contraindicate the use of electrical muscle stimulation (EMS), such as pacemakers, epilepsy, heart conditions, pregnancy, or any implanted electronic or metal devices.

    Proper Usage: I will follow all manufacturer instructions and RecoveryTec guidance on how to safely operate the Compex device.

    Skin Integrity: I will ensure my skin is clean, dry, and free from cuts, rashes, or irritation before applying electrodes.

    Electrode Placement: I will only place electrodes on muscle groups as per the Compex guidelines and will not use them on my head, neck, chest, or any area with reduced sensation.

    Intensity Control: I will start at a low intensity and gradually increase stimulation as tolerated, ensuring that it remains comfortable and does not cause pain.

    Hydration and Recovery: I will remain hydrated and avoid prolonged use beyond recommended time limits.

    Not for Sleep Use: I understand that I must not use the device while sleeping or in an environment where I may become unresponsive.

    Reporting Issues: If I experience discomfort, pain, dizziness, or any adverse effects, I will discontinue use immediately and consult a healthcare professional.

    Supervision: If I am unfamiliar with the device, I will seek guidance from RecoveryTec before use.

  8. Contra-indications for use

    The hirer understand that the activities may involve exposure to cold temperatures, pressure on various parts of the body and temporary vascular occlusion. I acknowledge that the activities may have potential risks and that it is my responsibility to consult with a medical professional if I believe any of the below conditions may apply to me which can affect my ability to participate in the activities.

    Normatec Compression Boots:

    I declare that I do not have any of the following conditions:
    - Acute Pulmonary Oedema
    - Acute Thrombophlebitis
    - Acute congestive cardiac failure
    - Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT)
    - Episodes of Pulmonary embolism
    - Wounds, lesions, or infections at the site of use
    - Where increased venous and lymphatic return is undesirable
    - Acute or unstable bone fractures or dislocations near the site of use

    Ice Baths:

    I declare that I do not have any of the following conditions:
    - Raynaud's disease
    - Peripheral Vascular Disease
    - Cold allergy or hypersensitivity
    - Any cardiovascular disease, including high blood pressure, heart arrhythmia, pulmonary oedema
    - Any other health condition you think may be affected by cold water immersion.

    In consideration of being allowed to participate in the activities, I hereby voluntarily and knowingly assume all risks associated with the Activities, including but not limited to the risks outlined above.

    Compex Muscle Stimulator

    Do not use the Compex if you have one or more of the following medical conditions:
    Cardiac pacemakers
    Defibrillators or other implanted metallic or electronic devices.
    Cardiac demand pacemakers.

    Blood Flow Restriction Cuffs

    Although blood flow restriction training is proven to be safe, and injury resulting from this type of training is rare, there are several contraindications of BFR training that must be made note of to perform this safely.

    Blood Flow Restriction training may not be appropriate if any of the below apply to you:
    -Circulatory issues or clot risk (DVT)
    -Heart disease/insufficiency
    -Severe, uncontrolled hypertension
    -Diabetes
    -Sick Cell Anemia
    -Varicose Veins
    -Pregnancy
    -Less than 12 years of age
    -Open would or incision
    -Infection
    -Cancer
    -Lymphedema

    These should be used under the guidance of a trained professional to make sure you have set them up and using them appropriately.
